Stud wall installation in Coventry to split a room, create a new bedroom or box in a space. We build the frame, add insulation if you want it and board it out, with a free quote.
Timber studs are strong and easy to fix shelves and TVs to. Metal studs are light, straight and don't warp, which suits long walls. Both are boarded with plasterboard. We'll suggest the right one for the room and what you plan to hang on the wall.
A plain stud wall lets sound through easily. Adding acoustic insulation between the studs and using thicker or sound-rated boards makes a big difference between bedrooms. Some walls also need fire-rated board where building regulations require it, and we'll check that for you.
If the new wall creates a room, it will need a door and probably sockets, a light and a switch. We frame the door opening, then run the cables inside the wall before it's boarded, so there's no need to chase into new plasterboard later.
We look at where the wall will go, check the floor, ceiling and joists, and talk about doors, sockets and lighting. If the new room needs a window or ventilation to meet building regulations, we'll tell you before you go ahead.
We fix the head and sole plates, build the frame and add any door lining and noggins for fixings. Cables and insulation go in, then the boards. The wall is then ready for plastering or taping and decorating, and any electrics are tested.
Tell us about the leak, fault or project. We aim to respond the same day, and there's no call-out charge.

A simple partition often doesn't, but creating a new bedroom can bring in rules on fire escape, ventilation and sound. New electrical circuits may also need notifying. We'll explain what applies to your plans, so you can check with building control before work starts.
Yes, as long as each new room has a window, enough space and a safe way out in a fire. Each room will also need its own light and sockets, and you may need to move a radiator. We'll look at the layout and tell you what's needed.
A basic stud wall doesn't block much sound. Filling it with acoustic insulation and using sound-rated plasterboard reduces it a lot, which is worth doing between bedrooms. It won't be as quiet as a solid brick wall, but it makes a clear difference.
A straight wall with a door can often be framed and boarded quickly. Adding sockets, lights or moving a radiator adds time, and plaster needs to dry before decorating. We'll give you a timescale once we've seen the room and agreed what's needed.
