LED downlight installation in Coventry for kitchens, bathrooms, hallways and living rooms. We plan the spacing, fit fire-rated fittings where needed and test everything before we finish.
Downlights need to be spaced evenly so the light spreads well, without dark patches or glare. The right spacing depends on the ceiling height, the beam angle and the brightness of each light. We plan the layout before cutting any holes in the ceiling.
Cutting a hole in a ceiling can weaken its fire resistance, especially where there's a room above. Fire-rated downlights seal the hole if there's a fire, helping to slow it spreading between floors. We use them wherever the ceiling needs them.
Downlights in bathrooms must be rated for the zone they're in, with a suitable IP rating where they might get splashed. Above a shower, that means a sealed fitting. We'll check the zones and use the right fittings for your bathroom.
We look at the room, check the ceiling and what's above it, and plan the number and position of the lights. We also check the circuit and switching, then give you a free quote that covers the lights and the fitting.
We mark out the positions, cut the holes, run the cables between each light and connect them. Then we fit the lights, test the circuit and make sure they work properly with any dimmer you've chosen.

It depends on the size of the room, the ceiling height and the brightness of each light. Kitchens need good light over the worktops, so downlights are often placed in a line along them. We'll plan the number and spacing to give even light without glare.
Yes. Old halogen downlights run hot and use far more electricity. We can swap the bulbs or replace the whole fitting with an LED downlight, which is often the better choice. Larger holes from old fittings can sometimes be covered by the new fitting's rim.
Many do, but both the downlight and the dimmer must be compatible. Using the wrong dimmer can cause flickering, buzzing or a shorter life for the lights. We'll check the specification of both and fit a matching dimmer if you want one.
Cutting holes in a plasterboard ceiling makes some dust, and we may need to lift a floorboard above to run cables. On the whole it's a clean job compared with other electrical work. Moving furniture out of the way beforehand helps the job go quickly.
